LIFE, LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL OF GOD’S CHILDREN

BORN AND PRE-BORN

Primary Writers (ages 9-11)

“How can there be too many children?  That is like saying there are too many flowers.” Mother Teresa

Topic: Mother Teresa loved all children – especially babies!  Write an essay telling why you love babies. (Word Limit: No more than 350 words, handwritten or typed)

Junior Writers (Ages 12-14)

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I dedicated you, a prophet to the nations I appointed you.” Jeremiah 1:5

Topic: God loves each of His children dearly.  He gives each of us many gifts and asks us to share them with the world.  Write an essay describing the ways you will honor God for giving you the gift of life. (Word Limit: No more than 500 words, handwritten or typed)

Senior Writers (Ages 15-18)

"And so we will stand up every time that human life is threatened. When the sacredness of life before birth is attacked, we will stand up and proclaim that no one ever has the authority to destroy unborn life. When a child is described as a burden or is looked upon only as a means to satisfy an emotional need, we will stand up and insist that every child is a unique and unrepeatable gift of God, with the right to a loving and united family.” Pope John Paul II

Topic:  The words of Pope John Paul in his famous “Stand Up for Life” homily in 1979 inspired many people to stand up for life.  Write an essay describing the ways we can each stand up for the rights of the pre-born children whose lives are threatened by abortion.  Include ideas that reflect spiritual, educational and political actions. (Word Limit: No more than 750 words, typed)
